The Area
Nestled on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal between Umkomaas and Scottburgh – just 40Kms south of Durban – lies the quaint village of Clansthal (also known as Ezembeni). The village is encompassed by lush, indigenous forestry which forms part of the Clansthal Conservancy who strive to maintain the natural beauty of the area.
Clansthal beach is pristine and is used predominantly by local residents and a few shore fisherman. The long stretch of beach can easily be walked all the way down to the neighbouring town of Scottburgh, passing Green Point along the way which is a well known surfing break. Atop a hilltop behind Green Point is the Lighthouse – a National Monument that used to be used to warn ships off the famous Aliwal Shoal.
A short 8Kms south of Clansthal is Scottburgh where one can find all amenities for daily life such as grocery stores, shopping centres, schools, banks, filling stations, medical care and more. To the north of Clansthal is the smaller town of Umkomaas and further north is Amanzimtoti, home to Galleria Shopping Centre with all major stores, services and entertainment including a Nu Metro Cinema.
The area has no shortage of activities and entertainment for all ages to enjoy. CrocWorld Conservation Centre is a short drive down the road from Clansthal, 5 excellent golf courses are within 15Kms of the Clansthal including Selborne & Umdoni Golf Courses and many scuba diving, deep sea fishing and shark cage diving companies can be found in the area.
For residents and holiday makers alike looking for the idyllic lifestyle of tranquility and leisure without sacrificing daily needs, Emoyeni Ridge in Clansthal is the home for you.
